It should help, but it won't be a complete solution, it can still attempt an  
IPv6 connection, if all the stars are aligned just the right, or the wrong,  
way.

I had some time to look at this. I just uploaded build 20241204 that  
implements this via an esmtproutes setting, so in esmtproutes:

comcast.net: /ipv4only

should do the trick. The nice thing is that this allows  
ESMTP_PREFER_IPV6_MX=1 to use IPv6 by default, except for the problem  
children.
