How can I check if an address is mine?

Hi, I can try aliaslookup and, if that fails, authtest. However, both fail on "[email protected]". Is there a program that tells whether an address delivers to the local server? If not, any hint on how to write one? Of course, I can check that the domain's MX resolves here and then connect to 127.0.0.1:25. Is this the easiest way?
