Thanks for the suggestion - or more appropriately, a reminder of how I did it last time, around 5 years ago. Would still be nice to find out whether sync_client is clever enough to pick up from a partially populated remote server, or whether you have to reset it to a known consistent point before enable replication. Anyway, I’ve enough to get this migration sorted - thanks for taking the time to reply!
