I also tried pointing sasl_saslauthd_path directly to the /server/var/run/saslauthd/mux socket file, but here I receive another error: SASL size read failed What's wrong with my config? I used sasl+cyrus-imap for ages up to 3.2, is there any problem with this 3.8.0-alpa0 version? Should I try the dev 3.9.0 instead? But now I receive "SASL cannot connect to saslauthd server: Socket operation on non-socket". The saslauthd daemon is started with "-a ldap -O [path-to-saslauthd.conf] -c -m [saslauthd_path] and the saslauthd_path contains: total 2058 -rw------- 1 root root 0 Jan 16 09:18 cache.flock -rw------- 1 root root 986112 Jan 16 09:18 cache.mmap srwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 Jan 16 09:18 mux -rw------- 1 root root 0 Jan 16 09:18 mux.accept -rw------- 1 root root 5 Jan 16 09:18 saslauthd.pid Cyrus imapd.conf has these options: sasl_saslauthd_path: /server/var/run/saslauthd sasl_pwcheck_method: saslauthd sasl_mech_list: plain Cyrus imapd version is 3.8.0-alpha0 (we are willing to test drive multisearch). Cyrus sasl version is 2.1.28.
