We followed your hint and now we have successfully get sharedseen value of parent:

    mboxlist_entry_free(&mbentry_parent);

We think that if we create a subfolder under an account with sharedseen set to true, the subfolder should inherit that value.
Do you think this is something to include in the official codebase?
