dbmail-users not removing alias

I am unable to remove aliases with:

dbmail-users -c <username> -S <alias>

I run it, and it says "Done", but if I immediately run dbmail-users -l I 
can still see the alias there.

Is this a known problem?  What is the right way to remove an alias?
