Jesus, On 5 June 2011, I posted to this mailing list a brief "top ten tips for writing an IMAP server" based on my experience. The subject was "Where to start?" You might like to look in the archives for it. I just reviewed it and would change only one thing: in tip #3 I discussed choosing a hierarchy character and my advice today would be narrower, suggesting sticking with one of the two commonest, slash and dot.
