Ah, so this has nothing to do with RFC822.SIZE or sizes of anything else, 
for that matter. You are complaining that the server did not return the 
"RFC822" item which Arnt points out is nowadays usually referred to as 
BODY[].

I have no idea why GMail skips it, sorry. It seems reasonable to expect 
that the server should return it as RFC822, so it appears that it's a GMail 
bug of some sort.
