Falling back to LOGIN from AUTH?

Hi,

I'm having to deal with a IMAP proxy called Perdition and it appears to
advertise AUTH=PLAIN as a default capability, but in fact does not support
any AUTH method at all, just LOGIN.

Now, I'm getting told that "everyone else appears to handle falling back to
LOGIN method", so I should do the same. I'm still pushing to get AUTH=PLAIN
removed from the capa list, but in the meantime ...

I am using the UW IMAP c-client and was wondering if there are any simple
remote name options I can use to go straight to LOGIN, bypassing the AUTH
completely even though it is advertised? Or do I need to add some code to
turn off auth using DISABLE_AUTHENTICATOR explicitly?
