I'll look into this - I certainly remember that when using -DHAS_SSL instead of -DUSE_SSL I got tls to work - perhaps it's the postfix version I'm using .... 2.0.18-2004.01.22 ... perhaps postfix simply saw the libs during the build and pulled them in. I also remember that when I used -DUSE_SSL, tls didn't work. After my last oversigh, I'd better check that again.
