I haven't even started to think about 2.2 yet.  I just quickly glanced
at the documentation online for 2.2 and it doesn't seem that anything
has really changed in the slapd.conf.

From a quick look at
http://www.openldap.org/doc/admin22/slapdconfig.html#Access%20Control
it doesn't look like anything has changed in how you specify the ACLs.

What errors are you getting?

Also, what's your slapd.conf look like?
