Have you thought about asking about this on the fedora-devel or on the irc channel #fedora-devel? I know there is continuing work trying to get more of this stuff working for FC3 but I do not understand enough of this stuff to ask the questions myself. In addition the FC developers are working with the jpackage developers to try to get as much of this stuff working on gcj as possible so that might be another possible source of info.
