Migration Assistance

Hello,

I have been running JAMM + Postfix + Courier IMAP on a RedHat  
Enterprise Linux 3 host successfully for a couple of years.

I am migrating to a new host running RedHat Enterprise Linux 4.  With  
RHEL 4 come new versions of postfix, openldap, etc.  Courier IMAP has  
also since been updated and we have installed the new version of that  
also.

I am running into a problem with the LDAP migration.  I have set up  
slapd.conf according to the changes required for the new version of  
OpenLDAP.  For the migration, I have copied the contents of /var/lib/ 
ldap from the old host to the new one.  I can successfully  
authenticate into the ldap server as root.  For example:

ldapsearch -x  -D 'cn=root,dc=example,dc=com' -b  
'o=hosting,dc=example,dc=com' '(&(objectClass=JammMailAccount))'  -W

However, where on the old host this search returns the contents of  
the ldap directory, on the new host this search finds nothing.

I've checked slapd.conf, ldap.conf, etc.; I've verified permissions,  
etc.

So my question is -- how do I successfully migrate my ldap tree?  I  
guess I could dump to ldif on the old host and load on the new one,  
but is there a way for me to just copy the ldap files?

I know this is more an ldap question than a Jamm question.  Your help  
is much appreciated!!
