You're in double uncharted territory for me with both gcj and tomcat5.
In the past, gcj has not worked, I'm willing to bet its the problem
this time as well.

You could grab the JDK from Sun and use that, but it looks like you
might also have a natively compiled tomcat, which may not work with
it.  So you could also grab the Tomcat from Jakarta/Apache.

I wish I had a better answer.
