Question About IPv6

I know libetpan support ipv6 from 0.47. But can I just code the same thing between ipv4 and ipv6, or something important must be done? For example: When I use pop3_mailstorage_init() to connect to the ipv6 server, all things I must do is give the second parameter a ipv6 address, and the others things is just like ipv4.
