IMAP fetch flags

I've noticed that mailfolder_get_messages_list() actually calls
"FETCH ... (UID RFC822.SIZE)"
on IMAP sessions.
I think calling "FETCH ... FLAGS" too will be handy (i.e. to detect 
actual unseen uids).
Is it possible to fetch flags and have answer automatically parsed using 
libetpan?
