After far too long fiddling to get a M build that works, I finally succeeded
last night and figured what the problem seems to be.
When you do a build of wxWidgets, it creates a pair of links in your build
directory related to wx-config. Unfortunately, it seems the wx build system
does not fully and correctly maintain these links and, due to circumstances
I have not yet figured out, allows you to have wx-config links pointing to
gtkd forms of the library even though it is currently (and correctly) producing
a non-debug version.
Presumeably, via wx-config --basename, M's ../configure system picks up what
type of version of wx is being created and this seems to be examining the
symlinks to figure this out. Therefore, you end up with the situation that
you can have stuffed up linking and therefore seg faults.
