You got it. The status column was being displayed on my notebook and not on
Mandrake machine. Both now working fine :-)

Yes, I'm running 1024*768 on both machines. Is this behaviour reliant on
anything in wxWidgets that I might not have enabled?

Talking of wxWidgets, I notice our manual is still peppered with wxWindows
references. When I get some time, I might do a global replacement with
wxWidgets. Vadim, maybe you could have a brief look at the CVS docs directory
and see what is still needed there. There's a lot of dead wood I think. In the
next semester break (mid June to mid July) I'm going to have a good look at
the manual. I had a brief look the other night when I looked for copyright
dates and there is a lot of references to stuff that was relevant back in the
0.2-0.3 timeframe but is long since changed / fixed / modified. A lot of this
can be scrapped and references to ideas that he was going to code in a few
weeks and never did can get pruned out where they do not reflect directions we
have taken M in.
