Correct display of UTF-8 messages

Hi all,

I get more and more UTF-8 encoded messages, and they are not correctly
displayed by my self-compiled (MSVC 7.1) version of M.  As the latest
posted snapshot does display those messages correctly, I know I must be
doing something wrong...

I tried to configure wxWindows and M with wxUSE_UNICODE=1, but got tons
of errors in M (mostly about concatenation of different types of
strings), so I suppose there must be something else...

Any idea, before I throw away my project files and start again from
scratch?
