 Yes, although OTOH the stack in assert is very useful, especially for
difficult to reproduce asserts, and you shouldn't experience this delay
that often so I'd advise against disabling it.

 Speaking of difficult to reproduce asserts, I still see the one which
started this thread :-( I'm looking into it right now.
