ideas for adaptation for small screen?

 Hello,

 I'd like to be able to use M on a eee PC. The main problem is that it has
a screen of just 800*480 pixels and so the current M UI with its 3 panes is
just not appropriate for it -- in particular folder tree takes up too much
of valuable screen space. So I plan to (optionally) hide it and maybe
replace it with a combobox allowing to choose the current folder in the
toolbar. Does anybody have any better ideas?
