[wxURL] GetInputStream() deprecated?

I try to recieve a file from a http-server with wxURL.

The problem is that the application "hang" somewhere in 
wxURL::GetInputStream(). The CPU (one core) is at 100%.

In the docs about that methode is that it is deprecated and wxFileSystem 
should be used to do that. But I can not see how wxFileSystem can help 
me with that?

I am using wx2.9 (from SVN).
