I am using VC++ 6.0 under Windows 98. While running Mahogany under debug
mode I discovered a wxWindows bug involving the wxDialUpMonitor. When
openning the preferences dialog I found an endless string of wxWindow
messages would appear in the log window. This can make the operating system
unstable. Also, a thread would be started which did not go away until
exiting Mahogany. The bug occurs when a wxDialUpMonitor is created, then
quickly deleted, as happens when bringing up an options dialog. This bug is
not apparent in the release version of Mahogany since the wxWindows error
messages are not logged. I have filed a wxWindows bug report at
sourceforge.net under ID 896806. If anyone is interested, I will post
followup messages concerning this bug.
