POP3 duplicate downloads (and, is RET/DELE sequence in single session?)

I have been going back and forth with my tech support
over why I occasionally get duplicate POP3 downloads.
This seems to happen most often when one of the emails
includes a large attachment, but this is not always
the cause. However I can for sure put an end to it
by directly deleting my email from the servers. Subsequent
POP3 session do not have duplicate download---until the
problem recurs at a later date of course.

Is there are known cause/solution for this problem
with Mahogany?

I found this:

It made me wonder whether the RETR/DELE commands
always occur in a single POP3 session.
I have no clue whether this is relevant,
but I had to ask ...

Thank you,
Alan Isaac
