Can't send email

Hi. Strange problem here- I am using Mahogany 0.66.0 on WinXP SP2. It is set up to pull email from an imap server, and send email using a SMTP server that does not use authentication. When I set it up, the test message the application sent by itself when thrugh fine. However, when I attempt to send email, clicking on the "send" button in the compose window does nothing: the button gets pressed, and then returnes to normal. The activity log (whith extedned logging turned on), reports nothing, as if I never clicked on the send button. Same thing happens when I use the menu command to send the email. Any idea what is going on, and how to get it to actually send the email I wrote?
