 I haven't seen it and while it, of course, doesn't mean that there is no
such problem it does seem unlikely because nothing changed in the relevant
part of the code.

 If this behaviour is reproducible, please enable "debug server and mailbox
access" checkbox in the last page of the preferences dialog and then try
sending the mail again and look at the output in the log window. If it
doesn't help, please post it here so that I could look at it.
