The only references to pcre.h I found were in the maildir directory, which I  
just fixed in build 20211128, so that one should compile.

This happens only if your build system attempts to regenerate the configure  
script. This is not necessary and should not happen when the tarball is  
simply unpacked and the configure script executed, as is.
