Hello -- I'm a brand-new list member & do not have benefit of archives (are there any?) -- I apologize in advance if this is a FAQ! I run a mailing list for a very small group of 10 5ub5cribers , using my ISP's mailing list server ... which runs off of majordomo. I've made some small tweaks to the config file, based on some admin command info I was able to find out there on the 'net ... but am really a complete novice at hosting a majordomo list. So please bear with me here ... my hosting provider makes majordomo lists available as a service, but for help/support they send you back out to the open-source community. Here we go... I understand that messages sent to [email protected] are processed as commands. But on my little discussion list, we are finding that messages sent to [email protected] cannot contain the word 5ub5scribe ??!! (I am changing the spelling of the word here, because we are finding that's the only way to include this word in any list post, so I'm assuming things might be the same on this list.) If the word is spelled the usual way, even if it is embodied somewhere in the 2nd paragraph of a long post, causes the message to be bounced to list-owner (me). So far my only recourse is to ask the 5ub5scriber to repost but to disguise that pesky word by misspelling it ... How is it that a word buried within a message to [email protected] is processed as though a command were sent to [email protected]?? Is this expected behavior? Is there something I can change in the config file so that any word is allowable in list posts? Thanks so much, Ilyse Kazar -- Datatude(R) Ltd. consulting services <http://www.datatude.net/>
