Problem with startup time of mj_shell.

I use mj_shell all the time. Now for reasons I do not understand, the
startup time for mj_test is huge. There's no load on the system while it
starts but the time to start and give me a prompt is ~26 seconds. After
the prompt is up, commands proceed normally.

There's another problem that I just discovered. I have no idea if it's
related or not: When I run mj_shell I initialize it (via expect) to set
default user to myself. The machine I run on is called saturn. The default
user that mj_shell sets for itself (if I don't init using expect) is
[email protected] instead of steveo at syslang dot net.

Any ideas on where the bottleneck is?

TIA
