poster whitelist

Hello,

    I run a moderated list and the amount of CONSULT emails is starting to get
a little much. I would like to allow certain users posts to be auto-approved,
and for non-auto-approved users to not get notified that their post is
stalled. I have set new subscribers ackstall and ackpost to false - I'm
assuming that some auto-approve setting will respect that? Whats the best way
to auto-approve certain users?
    I read the "Introduction to List Moderation" and the solution seems to be
some sort of access_rules incantation. I'm comfortable with regex, but I'm not
quite able to formulate in my mind what I need...is access_rules the wrong way?
