Those two settings are only useful if you want to use VERP to probe 
addresses that don't have recent bounces.  They're useful if your list 
is receiving bounces from which you and Mj2 cannot identify the recipient. 

Isn't the number of simultaneous connections to a remote SMTP server an 
MTA issue, rather than a list server issue?
