Um, yes.  But "my OS" is a very big place -- that's a lot like "your 
flight will take off from an airport."  I was looking for suggestions as 
to what might be imposing such a limit on that specific file -- since 
there are no quotas, it only occurs on log files, there are files much 
larger on the system, and the filesize limit for the user in question is 
unlimited.
