Followup on characters being converted to a question mark.

Back last November, I raised the question about how it seems that 
characters that were not part of the regular ascii character set were 
being converted to a question mark. I just decided to take another poke at 
the problem. Back then, I ended up talking with the author of 
HTML::FormatText, but what I'm seeing here is that some messages are 
coming to me with a text and an html attachment. Since the text attachment 
is already there, then mj2 has no need to convert anything. The gotcha is 
that the text attachment *already* contains the offending question marks 
for all occurances of  . I verified this by not believing what alpine 
showed me. I actually snipped a chunk out of my sendmail inbox folder and 
looked at it using od -bc. Sure 'nuff, they're all 077 which is The 
Dreaded Question Mark.

What does this all mean? It means that this is clearly not a mj2 problem.

Despite that, I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to 
proceed. I can't believe I'm the only one who has seen this.
