   confighow GLOBAL debug

If the value is greater than zero, change it to zero to stop logging.

Regardless, you can delete the log files without breaking anything.

I suspect the size limit is the ulimit in the operating system, which in 
this case is doing just what it should, keeping buggy software from 
filling up the disk.
