That's odd. Just so we do understand each other properly, would you
please do the following, in the order described:

1. Create a tiny textfile (two or three words long is enough).
2. Get back to this message and hit `a' to reply to the message.
3. In the draft buffer, go through the motions of attaching the text 
file created in step one.
4. Type C-h l and paste the contents of the resulting *Help* buffer 
into your draft. If you have recently typed a password or any other 
sensitive information, make sure you don't include it.
5. Add whatever comments you wish and send the message.
