I am all in favour of saving the effort to apply it elsewhere. I don't see any alpha/beta builds anywhere for OS later than 10.6 
though.

That is good to know otherwise I would have wasted a lot of time!

I may go back to seeing if I can convince Google contacts to work with LDAP as the front end, but that is probably also 'flogging 
a dead horse' :-)
