THIS should be posted on the Mulberry homepage. An excellent assay of what is
really available. But we're all so humble about Mulberry.

I am just moving back to Mulberry after a few years on Thunderbird when I
couldn't get it to install on Win 7. It seems to work fine now. It is like
coming home: I used Mulberry for many years and my preferences were still
     floating around and worked fine.

There are some things I find convenient in TB: drag and drop, some right click
contextual tools, but most of the features are just bloat. Mulberry is far
more standards compliant and is far, far faster, far less memory intensive, and
     has fewer IMAP artifacts.

Keeping it alive seems like a worthy cause I'd be happy to contribute too. I've
stayed subscribed to the mailing list for about 8 years now and will remain so.

Further, TB is abandonware as well. And Mulberry remains more modern and far
more feature-complete than Claws and Sylpheed.
