You are quite right and the latest efforts are especially heartening, though it did really look bleak there. I am particularly intrigued by beta 38's support for Maildir, despite having some weird problems with Maildir server-side at the moment, as it might enable a relatively light stack to allow the client to work in local mode only and background synchronize with the server. Mulberry remains my favorite interface. I like that it does email really well and doesn't try to do much else. Given how long it has been since an update, it very impressive how many devoted adherents remain.
