Really? It sounds like you're talking about doing the copy/paste every
time you send an email. Am I wrong?

I'm talking about doing it once, the first time you send an email to the
class members, then an extra step of saving a generic version of the
email as a template.

From then on, to send an email to the class, you just dbl-click the
template, compose the email and click send.

So why not do it (copy/paste) just once at the beginning of the
semester, instead of every single time you send the email?

I'm seriously not - or mis - understanding you here.

As most of us know, open source software gets features that people who
are capable of implementing them have a desire to implement. Apparently
the ability to paste multiple email address in a list on the fly without
the addresses having to be in the Address Book isn't something that
someone has had a desire to implement...

Maybe because they'd rather just use a template in such a use case.

You do understand that doing this via a template does not require the
address to be added to an Address Book (one of your requirements)?

Again - maybe I'm missing something here?
