If I understand your question correctly, yes...

When you say create 'one' - you mean folder to store the templates?

You would first manually create the folders as subfolders of the
Templates folder.

When you do a 'Save As Template' for an email, it puts it in the top
level Templates folder, so after creating the individual email
Template(s), you would then manually move them into the appropriate
subfolder. Once that is done, they would work as expected (I do this
myself).

Oh, I get the usefulness of Lists and been using them for ages, I've
just never really had a problem with the fact that the addresses had to
be real addresses in an Address Book (to be more precise, they must be
an address book entry in the Address Book that contains the List).

Now that you have brought this up, I do in fact see the advantage and
agree it would be nice if TB would allow this, but I almost guarantee
that no enhancement request would be considered unless/until the Address
Book back-end is rewritten...

But, I'll go add one anyway just to make sure this doesn't get lost -
unless one already exists, in which case I'll vote for it...

Well, bummer - just tested it, and while it lets me create the nested
lists, they definitely don't work properly - it fails when resolving the
sublists saying they are invalid email addresses, so it doesn't parse
them as lists.

But weirdly, the first sublist in the parent list actually receives the
emails.

Oh well, I'll open a bug for this too while I'm doing the first one...

Anyway, thanks for patiently explaining your use case here. One of my
hobbies is doing what little I can (I'm not a programmer) to make
Firefox and TB better, and working with enhancement requests and bugs is
one of the ways I do that.
