I have been using this feature for so many years that I forgot how 
invaluable it was until I tried to use another client that didn't have it. 
I was unable to change to the new client due to the lack of this feature. 
While it certainly "could" get in the way and it DOES require one extra 
mouse click upon sending, 75% of my email goes into the "sent" folder, 
which is the default, so it requires almost no thought.  That said, I'm so 
conditioned at this point, that when I want something dumped into a 
different folder, I simply scan my folder list and click on the target 
folder (can be a little cumbersome with 740 folders).  However, this 
prevents having to move it from my Sent folder to the another folder 
after-the-fact, which would be a LOT of mouse clicks.  I could certainly 
see where someone would argue that the extra mouse click adds up to a lot 
of clicks over a life-time, but I send a lot of email and I appreciate 
having it sorted upon sending (I'd never do it after-the-fact), especially 
when I look back at old email threads as they are all in one consolidated 
folder.

That said, saving in the replied-to folder sounds very useful (would 
require me to move my inbound email to that folder first, but I could get 
used to that, and those with inbound filtering are already doing it).  I've 
not noticed if Mulberry can do that as well (can it?).  Possibly a 
combination of the two features would be a neat feature for developers to 
think about (hint, hint).
