I agree and would love to have something like this! Thanks for the
pointer...

Question: what IMAP server are you using now? And does this work on just
any IMAP server? Or does it require that the server specifically support
it (with code) on the backend? And since Mulberry is open source now, is
the license such that the code could be 'borrowed' and integrated in
other clients? If not, I guess there would be nothing wrong with at
least looking at how Mulberry implements it.

I seem to recall something similar way back when we were using Netscape
4, but how it worked escapes me...

I currently use a custom sync setup, but it isn't designed to work as
efficiently or reliably as something like this.

I do recall learning about ACAP a long time ago, and advocated for it
for a while, but it never seemed to go anywhere.

I guess by this you mean 'Identities'? If so, then yeah, they're very
useful and I use them heavily in TB...
