Expunge button disappeared!

Hello!

A strange thing just happened on 4.0.8 (MacOS): The Expunge icon 
disappeared from the tool bar. I've been using this set up forever, and 
never saw this before. Nothing else in my system has changed.

Has anyone seen this sort of thing before? I can still expunge from the 
pull-down menu - is there a way to recover the icon on the toolbar?
