Ah sorry.  Yes, the headers looked for depend on the so file found.  And 
your homedir installation only contains the ncursesw.h headers.

So, it seems like the only workaround, for Mutt's build system at least, 
is swapping the order of the libraries searched.

I'll put this on my todo list, after (hopefully) getting some feedback 
from the other devs about the potential gotcha's with making this 
change.
