[PATCH 0/2] Proposed builtin regex.c cleanup

I'm debating whether to do this cleanup, or to just mark the builtin
regex configure option as deprecated and pull it out of the 2.6.0 release.

I'm certainly not capable of maintaining the code, and all platforms
should have a built-in regex library by now, shouldn't they?
