Changes in key code assignments

I recently upgraded from Xubuntu 22.04 to 24.04.1.  One thing I noticed was
that the codes reported by ":exec what-key" for some of my keypad keys had
changed despite all hardware being the same. For example, the keypad "+"
key previously reported <1017> but now reports <1107>.  Some other keys had
similar changes.

This isn't a problem as I've updated my .muttrc macros and bindings, but
just out of curiosity, does anyone know why this may have changed?  Note
that the escape codes issued by these keys remain the same.
