Re: After upgrading to RH8 neomail wont work!

Do the following:

# cd /var/neomail
# ./checklogin.pl
/etc/shadow
username
password
# echo $?

The echo command should return either 0 (authentication succeeded) or
1 (authentication failed). Use an active account and the checklogin
script should return 0. Oh.. note that checklogin.pl waits for input from
stdin, and you must supply the three lines after which the script will
return.

Explanation: checklogin.pl expects three arguments.
1) The file which contains the user database including the hashed passwords.
2) The username
3) The password

Also, check the result from the following command:

# cat /var/neomail/neomail.conf | grep '$passwdfile'

This is what neomail.pl supplies to checklogin.pl as the first argument (the
user database).
