Your missing his point.  He wants you to spend 10 extra seconds and 
remove his name from the To: list before you reply to the emails.

I'll agree that it makes more sense to have a single "reply" reply to 
the list instead of the original sender, but this list is set up to 
reply to the original sender only unless you use reply-all.  Just get 
into the habit of using 'reply-all' and then removing the original 
sender from the To: line so that he/she only gets one email (from the 
list)
