Well, now it's /images , but o.k. again

Sorry, but this is no relevant part of the error log. A relevant part
would be (like in one of your past posts) the error 404
about a missing image.

If you set 
DocumentRoot "/usr/local/apache/html"
and 
$image_url = '/images';

then :
create a directory 
/usr/local/apache/html/images
chmod it to 755
copy the images to
/usr/local/apache/html/images
chmod the images to 644

If this doesn't help, include again an apache error log
part, where you tried to access the images.
