So, no.
I think that it only works if a draftfile is provided on the cmdline.
And when used as a whatnowproc, the draftfile is implicit?

I poked at uip/send.c to understand, seeing:

		case DRAFTSW:
		    msgs[msgp++] = draft;
		    continue;

I guess "draft" is a global?
It's not set anywhere.
I think it's wrong.  I was going to investigate further, but through I should
pull first...

Worked.  Poor hosting machine is very slow though.

it's been awhile since I compiled... my HD died a few months ago, had
to be re-installed and restored from backup.
"apt-get build-dep nmh"
is a good trick to know, even when building from source...
